EGWU – Means music or dance

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Music is one of the most universal ways of expression and communication for humankind and is present in the everyday lives of people of all ages and from all cultures around the world. Music represents an enjoyable activity in and of itself, but its influence goes beyond simple amusement. Music has been shown to be an effective means of evoking nostalgia because it has the capacity to transport the listener to past times and places of their life, as well as to awaken associated emotions which are otherwise inaccessible.

In our case, It went further to inspire a collection of pieces that fuses cultures, nostalgic memories and style of our creative director.Our first original print is also born from music as it features images of the shekere instrument that originates from the Yorubaland. Other elements featured are Asooke (predominately woven by the Yorubas) , raffia that’s home grown around Nigeria and local embroidery style work.
